More than 45 Ph.D. students from various graduate fields have affiliated with the CPP. Affiliation provides students with numerous resources and opportunities to develop demographic knowledge and skills. Most importantly, affiliates are encouraged to interact with students and faculty members with wide ranging interests in population studies, including one on one consulting opportunities with visiting scholars who present CPP seminars. Affiliates are eligible for statistical and computer consulting and training in the use of specialized software and data sets. CPP graduate affiliates are encouraged to join and participate in the Population Association of America. Travel support to the annual PAA meeting is available. In addition, the Program is developing a Ph.D. minor in Population Studies that will be available to graduate affiliates in any graduate field. This new training program is expected to be available by Fall 2009.
To affiliate, graduate students should click on the red “Become an Affiliate” button located at the bottom left corner of this web page. Please provide your name, e-mail address, graduate field, research interests, and your advisor’s name.
